Daytime Thermodynamic and Airflow Structures over Northeast Bangladesh during the Pre-Monsoon Season: A Case Study

چکیده
Simultaneous intensive radiosonde observation at three stations over northeast (Sylhet), central (Dhaka), and northwest (Bogra) Bangladesh was analyzed to describe a three-dimensional thermodynamic and airflow structures on 25 April 2010, in which a distinct nocturnal rainfall occurred at Sylhet. As the observation was conducted in the daytime, the observed structures represent convectively inactive condition in a diurnal cycle. Local circulation was unclear and larger-scale airflow was dominated over Sylhet. The radiosonde observation indicated strong subsidence within 1–5 km over Dhaka and Bogra and within 4–5 km over Sylhet, whereas topographic uplifting of southwesterly airflow was observed within 1–3 km over Sylhet. Temperature profiles of Sylhet up to 3 km were lower than that of other stations, and easterly wind was observed at the surface. Community Structure and Biodiversity of Intertidal Sandy Beach Macrofauna in Chabahar Bay, Northeast of Oman Gulf, IR Iran
Biodiversity and community structure of macrofauna of the intertidal sandy beach at Chabahar Bay were studied for a period of ten months in 2007. A total of 32 species were observed and identified in this study so that polychaete with 16 species was numerically dominant. The results showed changing densities were influenced by monsoon season so that maximum density (1935.47 ind/m2) was observed...
متن کاملDaytime Ozone Variation in Surface Air in a Subtropical Mangrove Estuary at Manakudy, South India
Surface ozone (SOZ) can be very harmful if it exceeds the threshold limit. It can accumulate over sea and can return back to the land along with the breeze. Rural and vegetation rich areas often record elevated levels of surface ozone because of the variations in Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) levels, wind velocity and direction. Similarly methane is also an important greenhouse gas and plays ...

متن کاملMonitoring meteorological and agricultural drought dynamics in Barind region Bangladesh using standard precipitation index and Markov chain model
The Barind region of Bangladesh suffers from frequent drought due to poor and delayed rainfall in pre monsoon and monsoon season. In the present study details analysis of rainfall data has been carried out for the years 1971-2010. Two well known drought indices, Standard precipitation index (SPI) has been used to evaluate the precipitation deficit, and Markov chain model used to quantify the dr...
متن کاملSpatial and Temporal Variability of Rainfall over the South-West Coast of Bangladesh
This study examined the spatial and temporal rainfall variability from the 1940s to 2007 in the south west coastal region of Bangladesh. Time series statistical tests were applied to examine the spatial and temporal trends in three time segments (1948–1970, 1971–1990 and 1991–2007) and four seasons (Pre-monsoon; Monsoon; Post-Monsoon and Winter), during the period 1948–2007. Eight weather stati...
